Bed Bugs are small wingless insects that feed solely upon the blood of warm blooded animals and people. Certain kinds inhabit bird nests and bat roosts and await the return of their hosts; others have adapted well to living in the homes of people. Colors range from nearly white (just after molting), a light tan, deep brown or burnt orange. Bed Beg like to hide, and increases the difficulty in eliminating bed bugs once they have become established.
Bed Bugs are small reddish brown flat and oval insects that feed solely on blood. Common Bed Bugs prefer to feed on humans, but will feed on animals. Adult bed bugs are about 3/16″ long with oval flattened bodies. Bed bugs do not fly, and Bed Bugs do not jump.
Bed Bugs can be found in hidden groups. Areas where Bed Bugs can be found are marked by dark spots and stains on sheet and mattresses this is dried excrement and crushed engorged Bed Bugs. Also found are eggs smaller than sand, shed skin of nymphs, and Adult Bed Bugs.
Bed Bug Bites are usually found on the neck, arms, face and hands. Bed Bug bites are painless and not noticed for a couple hours after a bite. Small, flat, or raised bumps on the skin sometimes in 3’s are the most common signs. Redness, swelling, and itching can occur.
